Mission
Statement
The
mission of the SpiritKids program is to lay groundwork for a
spiritual life through exploration of world wisdom traditions and
through honoring and listening to one?s inner voice.
Our group programs are designed to facilitate an experiential
connection to oneness using music, movement, visual arts and
discussion.
The
SpiritKids Program
The
SpiritKids children?s program is a growing part of our community. We
begin our time together by joining the adults for socializing,
walking together and dancing. Then
we go to another room where Gwin offers an opening/sharing time.
Each meeting we have a different presenter, an adult who
brings wisdom, joy, and fun to share with our group.
We generally meet the 3rd Sundays of every month. Children
ages 4-13 are welcome.
Past programs have included:
-
Musical
Story Improvisation - with Ira Liss
-
Storytelling
? with Ali Galm
-
The
Seen and Unseen ? with Dr. Christine Hart
-
A
Meditative Peace Circle ? with Marianne Green
-
Rhythms
of Africa with John Galm
The
SpiritKids Band
The
SpiritKids Band is a group of young musicians ages 8 ? 16.
We delight in our rehearsals, enjoying true musicianship
while working together and having fun with improvisation. This leads
us to have a GREAT sound to share. We practice and present our music
(repertoire from the Dances of Universal Peace) for scheduled
events.
Gwin Lehman-Fell is the
director. She has
worked (and played) with children for many years.
Trained as a family therapist, she found her true calling in
teaching. She has worked in Waldorf and public schools for the past
25 years teaching mostly music and art, pre-school ? 12th
grade. She understands
that our children are our future and as adults it is our
responsibility to offer them ?jewels of wisdom?.
We
would love to have you and your children join us.
